Sims 3 cheats for xbox 360 and PS3

The Sims 3 console version does not let you cheat like the Sims 3 PC/Mac version does. You have to use Spoot the llama which only gives you some Sims 3 cheats. To get the llama, load up your Sims 3 saved game and hit start. Hold down LT,RT,LB,and RB (L1,L2,R1,R2 for PS3) together and the Sims 3 cheat screen will come up. Follow the directions on how to get the llama from the buy/build menu under misc. decor. Cheating does disable your challenges and achievements so make sure you save before cheating like it asks you to.

So, on to the crux of the matter. How do you fix Sims 3 Crashes? Or to go even further and more to the point, how do you prevent Sims 3 from crashing?

Preventing Sims 3 crashes

First off, the first thing you really need to do is make sure you can run Sims 3.

Once you’ve made sure that your PC can run Sims 3, check your drivers. Make sure you’re running the latest stable versions of the drivers for your Graphics Card. If you don’t know where to find them, here’s a list sorted according to manufacturer.

Fixing Sims 3 Crashes

There’s quite a lot of them, really but, chances are you’ll be getting any of the more common ones. If your problem falls into one of these, and you’ve met the requirements for the game as well as updated your drivers, please look at the next section (programs incompatible with Sims 3) or the Recommendations section.

Sims 3 has problems running on multiple monitor setups. It works (sometimes) but it’s recommended to play it using the primary monitor.

Programs incompatible with Sims 3

Although it’s not listed on any official EA statement, there’s a lot of recorded incidents of Sims 3 crashing with these programs running in the background. You can simply disable them or even uninstall them (you probably wouldn’t want to do that) in order to play Sims 3 properly.

Sims 3 Crashes Recommendations

If you’re using Daemon Tools Lite/Pro, you’re likely to encounter problems. You can use Virtual Clone Drive for a free alternative.

As for utorrent, there isn’t really anything close to utorrent’s functionality, size, speed and usefulness so you can either disable it or replace *gasp!* it with any of the more popular torrent clients. If you have multiple PCs, just don’t use utorrent on the PC that you’ll be playing Sims 3 on.

Also, do note that if you’re running a non legit copy of the game, don’t run the EA Updater. Your game won’t work… SRSLY

Now, if you’re still having problems running Sims 3, the last resort (without anything doing drastic to your system) is to run the game in Windowed mode (Options >Enable FullScreen).

ARGHHHAH I STILL CAN’T RUN IT WHAT DO I DO!?!?
If you’re running out of options, you can try and contacting EA (though 90% of the time, I’m sure you don’t want to do this because you don’t have a legit copy of the game… you pirate you ) and ask for their help.

The last, last, last resort you can do is install the game on a fresh version of your PC, and that’s to do a complete format + reinstall of your PC and try running the Sims 3 installer again. If it works you’re golden.

How to solve the Sims 3 Late Night bugs?

Sims 3 Late Night: No Mixologist on Duty!

Open the cheat console with Control + Shift + C, type testingcheatsenabled true, then shift-click the bar. Select delete object, then shift-click the floor and select buy on this lot. Go to the dining room tab, and select bars. Replace the bar with one of the two professional bars. A Mixologist should arrive soon to fill the position.

Sims 3 Late Night: How To Fix a Stuck Elevator?

Sometimes Elevators in Sims 3 Late Night high-rise buildings in Bridgeport can get stuck. Turn on testingcheatsenabled true through the cheat console (Ctrl + Shift + C). Type resetsim (firstname) (lastname) and it will send the stuck Sims home. The elevator may begin working again.

If resetting the Sims doesn’t work, you’ll need to replace the elevator. Be sure testingcheats are on, then use the cheat console and enter the commands: buydebug and RestrictBuildBuyInBuildings off. Now go to buy mode and go to the ? icon in “sort by type”. Find the elevators, select the broken elevator, delete it, and replace it with a new one. Make sure the new elevator faces the same way as the old one. This is the only known fix for the stuck elevator problem that came with Sims 3 Late Night.

Another solution is to replace the club. Once your Sims are at home, you can go to edit town and bulldoze the club and then replace it with a copy from the library.

You can find the latest Sims 3 censor patch on Modthesims: No Mosaic for Fast Lane Stuff mod which you install like any other mode and making sure you removed the old version you might already have to avoid any conflict.

You can also check out another Sims 3 Censor Patch, The Decensor (Version 3 – Updated 05-MAR-2010).  Then end result is the same but in fact it does not remove the blur effect, it delays the censor by 250 real-time milliseconds. The positive point of this one is that it’s dynamical so the creator does not have to update it for each patch, unless EA change how/when the effect is applied in the core files of the game.

A Sims 3 Censor Patch mod is not necessary if you are using Awesomemod, as that mod contains its own anti-censor measures.

WARNINGS: As always, ensure that you backup your save files prior to installation of any Sims 3 Censor Patch mod.

Painting in the Sims 3 is a skill that many Sims do not take advantage of. However, Sims should because they can make a lot of money as a painter and once they perfect their painting skills they have the potential to become ultra-rich. Learning the painting skill can also give Sims a fun and creative hobby. Sims who thoroughly read and understand all the components of this Sims 3 painting skill guide are sure to excel as painters.

Necessary Traits

The artistic trait is incredibly beneficial for Sims hoping to excel in the painting skill. With the artistic trait Sims’ mood will be up so that they can paint faster.

Ways to Raise the Painting Skill

Once Sims have some extra cash they need to purchase some decorative items for their home. This will help them obtain the well decorated moodlet. This moodlet will really help Sims’ mood become and remain positive. When Sims are in a good mood, they will paint better paintings because they will raise their painting skill faster.
How to Start Out as a Painter in the Sims 3

Sims should spend every free moment painting. If they do this to create small paintings, they can complete two to three paintings each day. They should aim to complete the proficient painter challenge and brushmaster challenge as soon as they possibly can. Sims who paint several small paintings will unlock brushmaster quicker, which will result in an increase in how quickly they complete paintings and this will later result in the ability to be able to finish two large paintings in a single day. It is important that Sims do not take a day off when they are learning and practicing the painting skill in the Sims 3.

If you are trying to give the family funds in order to buy a home, EA actually created a new cheat “freerealestate“! You first have to be in edit town mode for this cheat to work then you choose the family, open the cheat box, type in freerealestate and select the home you want your Sims to move into. Once they are on a lot, the familyfunds cheat will work, but you can NOT add or subtract like before, you need to give  them the exact amount you want them to have.

I moved out my Sims 3 family and they were left with $55,000 in the bank.  The fully furnished home I wanted for my Sims was a lot from Stylist Sims and the price was about $110,000. I went to “edit town”, selected my Sims 3 family, opened the cheat box, typed in freerealestate, selected the house and they were in! So they now live in a $110,000 fully furnished home and still have $55,000 in the bank!

If you do not want to cheat, there are other way to make extra money on the Sims 3.  Sims can up their guitar skills and play the guitar for tips in public places.  Sims can write books with their computer/laptop. Sims can paint and sell their painting, sell fish and fruits & vegies… Those are the most Sims 3 common way to earn easy money that come to mind, there might be more…

Sims 3 Cheat Box Solution:

Firstly, make sure you’re pressing the right keys. To show the Sims 3 Cheat Box, you need to hold down CTRL and SHIFT and C all at the same time.

If you’re pressing those keys, then the cause is most likely Cursor XP which has a shortcut combination that turns it on and off. That shortcut combination is… CTRL-SHIFT-C.

How to make your Sims 3 Cheat Box show up

First you need to open the CursorXP configuration. Click on Start.. All Programs.. Stardock CursorXP.. Configure CursorXP:

The new window will look like this:

You could click Disable all in the bottom left if you wish, which will solve the problem. However that method means you will need to re-enable and disable the program each time you want to play. Therefore, click Options highlighted in red.

Click the Preferences tab along the top of the new window, again highlighted in red:

Click in the top box (in blue). If you like, you can change it to another combination, such as CTRL-ALT-Z or ALT-X, or if you like, you can disable the hotkey altogether. This means you won’t be able to turn CursorXP off except via the “disable all” option, but it also means it won’t be conflicting with anything. To disable it, just press ctrl and let go, it will go to “none”.

Click OK then OK and your Sims 3 Cheat Box should appear in the game!

Don’t Have Cursor XP?

Then you have another program that uses that same key combination. Try thinking of what you’ve installed recently, since the cheat console stopped working. If you can’t remember, or if it’s never worked, check your running programs (the list of icons showing beside your computer clock). Open them and look at their settings or preferences to see if there’s an area where you can set keyboard shortcuts. One of them has CTRL-SHIFT-C as its shortcut and you should change it to something else, or shut it down, before running The Sims 2.

Try the combination CTRL-SHIFT-Windows Key-C.

Have a HP Computer?

1. Go to start menu.
2. Type in ‘hp health check’.
3. Right-Click on ‘HP Health Check’ then select Properties.
4. In the short-cut tab, you’ll immediately notice the short-cut key to start HP Health Check is indeed ‘Ctrl + Shift + C’!
5. Change the short-cut!
6. If you have this program as a desktop icon, repeat steps 3-5.

As far as I know there is 2 game mods to remove the blur cause by the Sims 3 Censor Patch.

The first one is to download the Sims 3 Nude patch that I have here.  You will find a file and a note explaining what to do: basically you have to overwrite one of the files in the game and the note explains where to find it.  This is the first mod that was released and this is the one I have used from day one and never had any issues with it.

Then another mod came out on >MTS2. >This mod is a .package file therefore it does not overwrite any files in the game. I have not used it since I had already removed it but looking at the comments over there it seems ok to use it.

So the choice is yours but if you are going to use the first choice and overwrite your Sims 3 game file, make sure you keep a copy of the original file just in case….

You do not need any certain expansion or stuff packs for it to work properly, you just need one of the versions mentioned below.

I also got to remove the Sims 3 censor patch because I find it quite annoying and the blur just looks silly to me. But as shown in the screenshot below a Sim’s skin has no details.
