How much different is Sims 3 from the Sims 2?
Okay, I love Sims 2!!! I have almost every one, but I really want the Sims 3! Is it a lot better than Sims 3? Do you have to buy more games for it like the Sims 2? And do they have good clothes and furniture? How much is it?

Before I go into detail, I’ll tell you now: wait until it becomes a little less expensive (Now it’s $50 regular $70 collector’s ed.)
It’s really not too different from the Sims 2. As I read before, it reminds me of the Sims 1. I feel the same way. There are things, like moodlets, free roam, and aging about the game that are different and cool, but other than that, it is the same, if not LESS than the Sims 2.
For example, in the Sims 2 (If you have Nightlife EP) you actually get into your car and back out of the driveway. In the Sims 3, your car magically appears on the street from your parking spot before you magically disappear into it. There is never any contact between Sim and Car. Maybe this will change in latter games.
Also, if your a user of the cheat boolProp TestingCheatsEnabled true, there is a similar cheat in the Sims 3: testingCheatsenabled true that allows you to change your relationships, add someone to your family (permanently might I add), change your relationship with someone (with out having to change there relationship with you), and alter there traits. That’s about all I’ve seen that you can do with this cheat… so far.
One MAJOR improvement to the Sims 3 is the Create A Style tool. It allows you to literally customize anything you want. You could make your clothes, shoes, mail box, windows, doors, toilets, fridge, and wallpaper all the same animal print if you wanted to.
One more thing. There have been a few, well more than a few, issues with the fast forwarding not working at all. It seems there’s a glitch that most people have. So if you do end up getting it before there’s a patch, you’ll be very frustrated.
***All in all, wait until the price goes down and they come out with a patch/update before you purchase the Sims 3. It’s worth the wait…
Hope this helps!!

It’s $50.
Trust me, you’ll love Sims 3. I got it the day it came out (after pre-ordering it), and I’ve already spent hours playing it. It’s different because you can easily move around the town without loading over and over again. There’s a whole bunch of other awesome things about it too.
Get it. You’ll love it! =)

I have played EVERY The Sims game. And I just bought The Sims 3 and YOU HAVE TO BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!
02 May 2010, 6:49 pm
It is harder to get bored with the Sims 3 bc they actually give you missions and opportunities to complete and it is so easy to do things out of your house. I thought I wasn’t enjoying the game until I looked up and realized I had been playing it for 3 hours! I didn’t realize how engulfed I was in the game. Another plus is that every thing is literally customizable trust me no sims can be just alike.
CONS: it’s a lot harder to maintain you sims and do all the things you want to. I’m also having trouble with things like the marriage and dating option but that might be a glitch I have and need to reinstall to fix.
02 May 2010, 6:23 pm
Yes. They will more than likely make expansion packs for the Sims 3 like pets and stuff like that.
The clothes and furniture can be customized into almost any design so the possibilities are endless!
It’s $50. It has better graphics. You’re Sim won’t have to use the bathroom as often. No loading screens, so you aren’t confined to one lot at a time. More personality traits such as: Artistic, Athletic, Brave,Charismatic, Childish, Commitment Issues,
Conversationalist, Cursed,Daredevil ,Dreamer, Easily Bored,Evil
Family-Oriented, Flirt, Fortunate ,Friendly, Frugal, Genius,
Gloomy,Green Thumb ,Sense of Humor, Grumpy ,Handy, Hot-Headed, Inappropriate, Insensitive,Kleptomaniac ,Light Sleeper Mooch, Natural Cook ,Neat, Outdoorsman,Paranoid ,Partier ,Perfectionist, Pizza Lover, Playful Rude Schmoozer Shy Slob Unforgiving, Workaholic, Worrywart, Vegan and many more!
You can also follow your Sim to work and help him/her make decisions that may or may not help them get a promotion.
In Create-A-Sim there are:
-There are no curly hair, but are some very long hair.
- There is no underwear section anymore.
- Male Sims can wear makeup.
- There’s a “Create-a-Twin†tool for every age.
- Changing hair/clothing/face is easy. You can just click on them and the CAS takes you directly to the right menu for editing whatever you selected.
- There is an eyelash length slider bar.
- Socks and Shoes are also fully customizable. They are chosen seperately per outfit, as well.-
You can set lifespans to range from 25–1,000 days or turn aging off completely.
- Every article of clothing is always available to you in the game, and are always recolorable. So no need to ‘buy’ clothing.-
Ghosts are playable, can marry living Sims, and even make ghost babies.
Hope This helps!

I agree with some of these people.. I was looking forward to it for soo long, but it is nothing like what I had expected. I can’t figue it out but the graphics are much worse! It is almost like the original sims. And I agree that the characters are ugly! Its complicated and hard to understand. I am honestly mad, I do not like it at all. Sure there are more things to customize, but its really different and doesnt seem like its better than the Sims 2 at all.
02 May 2010, 5:38 pm
DON’T BUY IT! It’s different and all, but it most likely won’t download on your computer. You need a VERY updated computer for it to work :X
02 May 2010, 4:58 pm
I was having a problem trying to decide whether or not to buy the Sims 3. (Because of the price) in the end i bought it, and i don’t think it was really worth my $50! I like the Sims 2 animation a lot better. With the sims 3 they said it would look more realistic and so on, and to me it doesn’t. Although I really do like how in Sims 3 you can customize EVERYTHING. Including their clothes, hair, and furniture.
Oh, it also seems to take longer to do things in the Sims 3, but that just might be my opinion. And the hairstyles aren’t that great.
02 May 2010, 4:01 pm
well the sims 3 is Way! better in my opinion because no longer is it a load screen to go anywhere also you can have bikes and when the girl sim is preganet you can take her to the hostpital instead of having a baby at home those are just some of the dozens of new features for the sims 3 like taking classes stealing and others and they say they’re will be some expansion packs and the furniture is better u can actually customize your furniture to match everything in the house or not which ever one u want everything can match with everything ! and in my opinon they have better clothes you get to pick the shoes from the pants and shirt from the pants and then you can pick your overall outfit also THE BUILD A CHARECTER IS WAY BETTER u can give your sims traits and big or small and you can pick they’re voice and the price is 49 dollars i belive

The Sims 3 is a strategic life simulation video game in the popular and critically acclaimed The Sims franchise, originally created by Maxis. Within the series’ in-game chronology, it is a prequel to both The Sims and The Sims 2, as well as spin-offs such as The Sims: Bustin’ Out.[9] A collector’s edition is also available, which comes with a free sports car download, a sticker sheet, a 2GB Plumbob-shaped USB drive, and 1000 Sim Points (equivalent value in local currency, eg. 10 USD) to spend at The Sims 3 Store.[10][11] In contrast to the previous versions, the houses and neighborhoods are seamless, allowing players to explore and interact with their neighborhood without loading time.

Gameplay
Sim houses and neighborhoods are entirely in one continuous map, and the developers state that “What you do outside your home now matters as much as what you do within.” The game includes an optional feature called ‘story progression’, which allows all Sims in the neighborhood apart from those the player is currently controlling to autonomously continue as if the player was controlling them, i.e. grow up, get married, get jobs and promotions, have kids, and so forth. Unlike previous Sims games, features may be toggled on or off to the user’s preference; for instance, a player may toggle off aging/death if they do not want that feature to be enabled.[12]
Of the eight needs of The Sims 1 & 2, only six (hunger, bladder, energy, social, hygiene and fun) remain, removing comfort and environment. These are represented by “moodlets”, attributes which are acquired special events, such as minor events like tooth brushing and major ones like a wedding, and affect the Sims’ behavior. Several minor features from The Sims 2 expansion packs appear in the The Sims 3, such as the “young adult” life stage, mobile phones and guitars (University), private cars, personal inventories (Nightlife), fishing and gardening (Seasons), jewelry and accessories, (Bon Voyage), tooth brushing, ceilings and playground structures (Apartment Life)[13][14]. However, none of the main features from expansion packs, such as a Sim going to college (University), will be available yet.
Neighborhood exploration
On March 19, 2008, EA revealed a new feature to The Sims 3: neighborhood exploration. Sims can now explore the world outside their homes without having to face strenuous loading times. Every lot is now synched to the main neighborhood time, whereas before, the time of day (and weather) was different in each lot and would continue off from the last time it was played. Players can also interact with every building in a neighborhood. So, for example, the player can enter their neighbor’s house by “ringing their doorbell”. Every Sim lives out their lives simultaneously; people will move in, move out, get married, etc., all as they play. There is also be a setting that restricts their actions to minor things like showering, eating, and going to the bathroom. Each job has a specific building designated to it. Players are not able to see inside but are able to have limited control of their Sims—tell them to work overtime, laze around, listen to the boss and so on.[15]
As in The Sims 2, there are residential lots and community lots. Most community lots in The Sims 3 are dominated by a public building, which functions as an elementary object – larger than most other gameplay objects. A Sim can interact with a public building – working, going to school, shopping, taking lessons, watching performances etc – but is hidden inside the building during interaction.
Sims can easily move around the town with various transportation devices such as taxicabs, private cars, bicycles, or running, while letting the rest of the family stay independent at home – compared with The Sims 2, where time freezes on the home lot when a Sim visits a community lot.
Skills
There are several skill-dependent abilities – such as advanced social interactions available from high charisma, and special songs for guitar players. Painting, writing and guitar are now different skills, instead of the all-encompassing “creativity” skill of The Sims and The Sims 2. Paintings are more unique to each Sim based on their traits.
Careers
Many careers are available to pursue and each has a workplace building in the neighborhood which Sims travel to for their shifts. Sims can also apply for jobs within these buildings. Though Sims are hidden inside buildings during the workday, the player can control their behavior at work to a certain extent. Like previous Sims games, the job yields “opportunities” — tasks that could be finished

I’m playing sims 3 right now

I have to admit, the intro makes me cry out of awesomeness xD
Well, this is how it looks like:
When everything loads, the town shows up (like in the sims 2) but it’s a little bigger. Now you can either play an existing family, pick one from the family bin or make your own (same as sims 2).
If you choose the ‘make a family’,you have a LOT of new options.First of all,you can switch between family members you already made, and upgrade them. You no longer need to re-do everything if you make a mistake!
When you’re making a sim,you can go to almost every detail. You can choose fatness from slim to fat (not only slim and fat like in sims 2!) and you can choose if he/she’s muscularly or not.
Then you can change almost every single thing on the face.Eyes,nose,mouth,ears,chin,cheeks,jaw,head,etc.You can choose any eye color you wish, and the skin also!Well, not really any color you wish, but you can have shades of pink, red, normal, dark, blue and green
Now,the hair disappointed me a little.There aren’t much choices.
But!It is also awesome. You can change the hair color to ANY color you like. And there are 5 types of highlights you can change to any color you like.
The clothes are better, since you can change the pattern on the clothes, the colors, etc. You can also change shoes!.
You can have gloves, and other accessories for every kind of clothing (swimming, outdoors, athletic, etc).
You also give them traits. You have about 80 to choose from
When you’re done, you get to make a house. Now,there are hundreds of stuff to add.
You still have cars, you have pools, you have better cars, you have bicycles, you have umbrellas so you don’t get sunburned xD!The new furniture is good
That’s about creating stuff.
I haven’t tried their life yet,but you can go anywhere you want without having to take a taxi.
But there aren’t any expansions yet ):
[Edit] Just started their life.
I don’t like how they look like ): They remind me of sims 1.The sims are bad in my view, but everything else has amazing graphic :’(
02 May 2010, 1:47 pm
I love it but there are some things I was disappointed with.
1) They give you way too many options in the create-a-sim. It took me forever to make a family and by the last person I just started to give up.
2) The graphics aren’t as good as I expected them to be.
3) The fast mode is not fast at all and it takes forever to fast forward through the night and work.
But I think those are just small things. Overall, the game is definitely a step up from the sims 2 because there is more to do all together. People call you and ask for you to do stuff for them and you get paid, raises at work, or even promotions at work for them. Also, you can choose multiple paths in the same genre of career so two sims in the law enforcement career can have two different jobs.
Well there is a lot to say but I’m going to end it here.
Have fun! =]
Oh and they left stuff out so they could make expansion packs. Like sims can’t go to college in the regular game. I would expect the first expansion pack to come out in 6 months to a year and the rest to follow rapidly after that.
02 May 2010, 1:14 pm
it looks nice but i dont like it i got it and it seriously slow…………………………. i advise u not to get it
02 May 2010, 12:24 pm
love it!! the graphics are great, u really can make any sim u want, travel around town just by walking there! The jobs are cool and the traits are great.
I ♥ Sims 3 ♦
02 May 2010, 12:15 pm
I really like it the only thing I don’t like is it is hard to make them look good the way the shadow it’s the chin it make their face look fat but other than that I really like
02 May 2010, 11:15 am
It is way different than Sims 2 i love decorating and making my sims and playing in TS2 In TS3 it is a Lot of playing and making them get through a lot of steps and challenges to get to new places levels etc.
Also as said looks are FAR from real i have a top of the line System and it does not Look really all that great They look like cartoon characters
That said i LOVE playing it on a different level
if you want email me through my profile i know where you can get it to try it out before buying
02 May 2010, 10:47 am
dont buy it i bought it is not worth it i promise you
02 May 2010, 10:05 am
i just got it today its okay but they have horrable clothes i was thinking sims 3 was gonna be better than it is.
02 May 2010, 9:45 am
well, its really realistic! you don’t have much of a great clothing choice, but you can really make a sim person look like you! they have great furniture. the venues are also really cool. the people acttually walk better. they still talk that gibberish stuff. lmao. i think you should try it out.
02 May 2010, 8:58 am
I own all sims 1 and sims 2 games. But! the sims 3 is a must buy. It really goes deep in the playing. after a while i felt like a sim. I am a little dissoppointed with the way their is not as much furniture or clothes as the sims 2 but you can download all that you want off the site. The sims 3 is the best game i have played in a long time. It is a little bit harder to play than the sims 2 and 1. The controlls are diffrent and that trough me off a little. But if you like the sims 2 you will love the sims 3. you do not have to buy any game but the sims 3 to play it. The game is about 50 dollars but its worth every simlon. There are not much clothes or furniture but what is there is better than the sims 2.
02 May 2010, 8:14 am
I absolutely love it. EA did an amazing job. The sky’s the limit on this game. And now I want the Expansion packs! LoL
02 May 2010, 7:34 am
I just got it today and I don’t like it very much. They improved on tons of things but while they were improving they made the game look more like sims 1. It is really confusing and I am starting to feel like I wasted 50$. However I felt like this switching from sims 1 to the sims 2 so I could change my mind. I would suggest buy it and check it out for yourself.
-It costs 50$ (with tax)
-It has nice clothes and furniture that you can completely customize with fabric/texture/ and color (which is my fav part!)
-And they will be coming out with more expansion packs soon
02 May 2010, 7:17 am
Well i never played the the sims 1 but i think from the look of it its gonna be a whole lot better.
1. the customization of the sims is a lot more creative. From the sixe of their nose to with width of their head.
2. they said no loading when going from place to place
3. u can add personallites to ur sims and make them unique
Its about 50 bucks. And abut 70 for the collectors.
If u wanna find out more go to thier channel on youtube.

02 May 2010, 7:12 am
Its pretty different. You can customize a lot more, walk around the neighborhoods, and families you aren’t playing with continue living their lives. Its getting a lot more realistic. Also, you can choose their socks! I though that was pretty great.
02 May 2010, 6:51 am
IT IS SO FUN!
i bought it on the opening day and i’m addicted
you can walk around anywhere you want (in sims 2 & sims, you had to load between lots)
the sims themselves look pretty different
different jobs, different places to visit
There aren’t any expansion packs out yet. i think there will be though. the clothes and hair is alright. i was expecting a bit more from that department. i got it at EB games for 56 dollar + taxes
02 May 2010, 5:58 am
I just bought the sims 3. The things you can do with the sims 3 you can basically do with a lot of the expansion packs of sims 2. I prefer the sims 3 though, because its all in one game. The cool thing is that I like, is that you can arrange furniture and objects to an angle. Another thing that is cool is that you can go around town and do some really awesome things. I believe they are making expansion packs, but not anytime soon… Another thing I like is that you can make your own color to your hair, clothes, and furniture!!! You can also choose the design and everything. For the hair you can change the color of the roots, tips, highlights, and the main color. You can do the same to hats. It’s just one amazing game.
The sims 3 is usually $49.99 but since I live up in Alaska, and theres also no sales tax, it was $49.95….. I reccomend the sims 3. The only issue I have had with it, is that it keeps freezing but that is because my pc is REALLY old. It’s one cool game:)
02 May 2010, 5:48 am
Alright, everyone with positive reviews is correct. I’m not going to waste my time, lmao- I’ll just answer the expansion pack question:
I heard from EA that instead of expansion packs, they were going to put up things on the Sims 3 website, so you can pick and choose what things you want in the game instead of having to download the whole thing and have a bunch of things you don’t use.
But the game is AWESOME!
To the guy that said it included religions… o_0 I don’t know what version you’re playing. All the religious content I had in my Sims 2 game was custom content, and it was camera-pose stuff, book covers, cross necklaces, the Jewish hat-thing, and little statues. The sims didn’t follow the religion- they LOOKED like they did. But there are no religions… unless you want to worship a rock star. XD
02 May 2010, 5:46 am
Okay the Sims 3 is more digital and has more options than the Sims 2.Like you can pick the size and shape of your sim also you can choose patterns to color cordinate you objects. The sims 2 only allows you to pick the person fat or skinny then it depends on exercise they get. Then you could only pick from a certain amount of colors. Also in Sims 3 you get more options in clothers and cars . I am a big car fan so thats what i loved about this game.
02 May 2010, 5:12 am
Okay I was just like you. I was super excited for the sims 3 to come out and it SUCKS! The graphics are terrible, the people look so fake, and its painfully slow. I have a pretty new laptop so thats not a problem either. They rushed the game and it has so many flaws and I suggest you dont buy it. Save your $50! I’m just gonna wait until the Sims 5 or something. Lol.
02 May 2010, 4:52 am
Sims 3 is WAY better than the Sims 2. You can personalize characters with their personalities. I have the Sims 3 and I have not had to buy extra games for it. They do have very cool and new clothes and furniture to choose from. If you go on the sims 3 website, you can trade with other players.
02 May 2010, 4:02 am
I loooove it! It’s much more in depth and realistic. Right now the only one out is th original Sims 3. There aren’t any expansion packs yet. They have really cute clothes and you can edit the colors and stuff. You can even pick out a persons socks, or not make them wear them at all! You can edit the hair down to the roots, highlights, and low lights! I paid $50 for mine at Wal Mart and I would highly recommend it.
02 May 2010, 3:14 am
If you look at Sims 2, what is it like? A souped up version of Sims 1 right? Where there were a million more options and things to do. Over time we found things we wanted changed, the graphics got outmoded, and the we wanted more than the game could offer on that platform. Well that is what Sims 3 has brought to the table. It would appear that they heard what we had to say, sat down and thought how can we improve on that, and then did it and better than I could have imagined.
New time settings where weather and sun/moon positions change, the best graphics short of a ps3 (maybe comparable but still not equal), so much customizing I don’t know where to begin, the people are not ugly, just more real looking (or maybe you never looked in a mirror hunny), and so much more.
I got the collector’s edition (been playing since sims one was still the in thing) and if you have that option it is well worth the money. I have 2 towns, riverview and sunnyvale, plus you get a lot of other neat bonuses that you can read about on other threads on this site or on:
http://www.thesims3.com
Price is $50 for the regular, $80 for the limited ed (American dollars, convert yur own currency biznozzles). And yes of course you have to buy expansions….. it’s a computer game like WoW or Civilization, that’s how they make their money…… that and the virtual items. The clothes and furniture are so much more up to date (thank god). You should totally buy it because it is sweet…… and the plumbob usb is AWESOME! Then again, Sims 3 in general is SUPER AWESOME!
02 May 2010, 3:05 am
Sims 3 Sucks. I just got it today and it is totally weird and compared to Sims 2 is a FAILURE.
the create-a-sim is sh*t
02 May 2010, 2:33 am
way different i got it 4 months ago. AMAZING!
02 May 2010, 2:26 am
I don’t have it, but it looks pretty good but more like Sims 1.
It doesn’t actually have a big difference from Sims 2. But think about it. Sims 1 was literally a 2D game, Sims 2 began to become more realistic, now Sims 3 has a seamless neighbourhood and you can create anyone you like.
Read my question about the sims and you’ll understand my point of view.
02 May 2010, 2:08 am
MY ONLY ADVICE TO YOU AFTER OWNING ALL THE SIMS COLLECTION 1,2, AND NOW 3…
3 IS A MUST HAVE!!!!!!!!
I AGREE WITH THE GUY ON TOP, THE SIMS 3 PUTS THE SIMS 2 TO SHAME… IT’S SO REALISTIC. THE COMPUTER AI FOR THE SIMS ARE MUCH SMARTER NOW THAT IT MAKES THE GAME MORE FUN TO PLAY. THERE ARE SO MUCH NEW THINGS YOU WOULD HAVE TO JUST BUY IT AND TRY IT!
02 May 2010, 1:12 am
its alotlot better the graphics at 50 times better, u can personalize the coloures and patterns on all of the furniture like seats and laptops. you can go to work with your sims and make the protest. you can have picnics in the park with your family. i cant wait to see go to the sims3 website http://www.sims3.co.uk
02 May 2010, 12:35 am
im not sure if you played the sims 1 before but going from the sims 2 to sims 3 is much like going from the sims 1 to sims 2. the graphics are much improved, along with creating a sim and the game has all new furniture. a big difference is that you can explore the community whereas in the sims 2 you had to go from lot to lot.
the sims 3 is $50 and im sure there will be just as many extension packs as there are for both sims 1 and sims 2 (notice how there are no pets, which are always added with an extension pack).
i would definitely suggest watching some of the videos on this page b/c they show you some new features and they give you a good idea of the game before you buy it:
http://www.thesims3.com/game/videos
if you are content with the sims 2 i would suggest waiting to purchase the sims 3 because they seems to always come out with the sims deluxe set shortly after the regular game has been release, but for the same price.
02 May 2010, 12:11 am
I’ve been playing it and it’s awesome. It puts sims 2 to shame. You barely have to take care of needs and the way careers work is awesome. The only bad thing about it I think is the lack of non-dorky male hairstyles. You have to get it.
01 May 2010, 11:51 pm
I Just Bought it Yesterday. Here is what it has it Has………
Better Graphics , Better Design tolls you can choose your own shoes Color Tool Print Tool (Lets You Different Fabric Prints like Flowers Cheetah Leopard Ect. ) Also a Voice tool To Make there voice higher or Lower no loading screens newer venues bistro city hall community Theater Business and Journalism office day spa diner Grocery store hospital military base police department school science facility sports stadium work and the criminal warehouse 64 traits create in game custom content you don’t need to go out of the game to a body shop what you do is pick a color and change it the you have the in game Created Custom content and its 50.00 for the sims 3 and 70.00 for collectors edition
01 May 2010, 11:43 pm
yes its going to have better graphics and it will have a more reality feeling ,they even have religeons i heard…..
im not so sure but you probably wouldnt see an expansion pack for a long time since its so advanced and takes a while to develope.
and for price range im guessing you would be looking at like 50$..
for more information you should look at http://www.sims3.com
01 May 2010, 11:33 pm
I have to say I am disappointed. I expected it to be an updated, better version of the Sims 2. But what I have found is that it is WAY slower. Not to mention when you visit different community lots there are NO people. And I often times like to fast forward through certain parts and on this game fast forward doesn’t move any faster. It sucks in my opinion. I have been playing the Sims since they first came out. I have every expansion pack they’ve made, and I was waiting patiently for the Sims 3 to come out, (I reserved it in advance and was the first one at Best Buy this morning). What a waste of $50.
01 May 2010, 10:34 pm
There are some big improvements that I had always wanted for Sims 2. For starters you can go to your neighbors house easily by crossing the street without having to zone and load to a different area. In Sims 3, characters have more of a personality and since of realism. Sims show more emotion, better graphics, more character details etx. 4. The downside to this is you can only play the guitar as an instrument. Hopefully they will patch that up with more items to play rather just one.
01 May 2010, 10:12 pm
its cool the only thing i do not like is that the sims are so ugly! i cant make them look good. im going to have to download some sims. also you cant go in the community lots with them which sucks because in the sims 2 you can. the clothes arnt that good but you can customize the colors. it was 50 dollars.
01 May 2010, 9:15 pm
okay, so sims 3 is really cool. the new things you can do are amazing. you can customize EVERYTHING. But the downfall for me is i dont like the set up. you have one neighborhood and i dont know how to explain it.
All in all its worth getting if you are a sims fan

Sims three is $50 of pure love. who ever said money can’t buy love is SO WRONG!!!!!!
Sims three is way better than sims 2. You have better cars, furniture, people, get to cusomize personalities WAY more. who thought you could be a spy and such.
Way more fun.
It is the bass game, so their will be expansion packs, but totally worth it. SIMS 3 !!!!!!!!!!
If your not sure about sims 3, you can play games on a sims website . it lets you create a sim, YOU GET TO CHOOSE SHOES, and you can do other stuff to, but my internet shuts down right when i finish my sim. its called simsocial.
Google it. Im to lazy to do it for you.
SIMS THREE!!!!

id have to say the decorating and building functions are a lot more fun and easy to use, but the Create-a-Sim kind of ruins it for me. All the sims kind of look weird and gross. Also some of the graphics fall flat. Id say give it a try, but at the end of the day Sims 2 is better

Man, it is awesome. It is really realistic, you can travel anywhere in the neighborhood in seconds, and there are a lot of new clothes and furniture. In create a sim, you can even change their voices and make them cowards, vegitarians, losers, and so on. You can also take their clothes and hair and make them any color or texture you want. Same with furniture. There are also many other cool things to do, but i can’t name them all. As for expansion packs, EA will probably make them, and the game is $50(I’m now officially broke.) Happy Simming

right now i dont like it…it looks like sims 1, but idk, my computer is crap, so maybe it doesnt rlly look like that.
and i have to admit the traits are cool. ur sim culd be lazy, athletic, non-humourous, insane, daredevil, brave, loner, slob, snob, party animal, loser, and so on!
