When will they start making Sims 3 expansion packs?
I know that there is Sims 2 expansion packs. But does anyone knoe when they will start making Sims 3 expansion packs? Also, Sims 2 has an exchange with way cooler stuff and a varity of choices. In my Sims 2 there is lipgloss, and cooler clothes than they have in the Sims 3 exchange. Does anyone if the Sims 3 exchange will get better?

this answer is certain because i have had a look over the internet and it turns out that they are releasing 1stuff pack and 2 expansion pcks for sims 3 in november 2009

Sims 3 just came out two weeks ago, so it will be quite sometime before the expansion packs start coming out. I doubt the sims 3 exchange will get better, the items on the exchange are just recolours of things we already have. If you want custom content you’re better off looking at a site like mod the sims or tsr

Considering that Christmas is a target sales period, and many people have already gone out and purchased the game during the summer, then my guess is they will come out sometime in late Novemeber.

A Dutch fansite found two expansion packs and one Stuff pack in an online South African software store. They have no titles yet, but are expected to be released in November of this year.
The EP is listed at 317 Rand, which is a little less than 40 US dollars.

You have to wait at least 6 months for a real expansion pack, like University or Pets. Before Christmas would be a good bet for their target date.
If you want the smaller “Stuff” packs, like Ikea and Glamor, well, we may not get those because they already have it online.
One of the 3 sets they have online is already $20.00 (or 2000 points. It’s a penny a point.) I mean, why would they work up cover art, produce a CD, ship it and sell it at half the cost to retailers when they can get 100% of the cost without doing that?
So Stuff packs are already online at EA, ready to suck up your money (I already used my ‘free’ collectors edition 1000 points plus 2000 points I paid for) Real expansions you should wait for some time when people are spending money for them to release it. Otherwise it will be old and uninteresting.
Since Sims 3 was delayed, we can really expect one at Christmas to renew interest in Sims 3 and the new expansion, or maybe just Sims 3 Holiday Edition if they can’t perfect an expansion in time. That way Grandparents and parents can get the new stuff for all their kids and grandkids.

yeah they sure will… i mean come on sims 3 is just the basic of liveing.. as sims 1 and sims 2 they started to get animals,nature,Vaction,And Glamour with them and sims 3 lacks the animals,nature,vaction,Weather,and so much more and with sims 3 there gonna be even bigger choices for even better expansion packs.. and i heard there gossip going around the expansion pack that does come out next will allow editing and making lots and creating your own places/neighborhoods!!!!!!!!! without using what they got or gave you =)
and this will probley all start happeing in 2 to 3 months… from now htye already sold enough copys to make a hole new game if they wanted xD

The first sims 2 expansion didn’t come out for a year. It might not be that long for the first sims 3 expansion but it’ll probably (hopefully) come out towards the end of the year.

I’m pretty positive they will make sims 3 expansion packs. I remember when sims 2 just came out, the expansion packs came out a half of a year later..so im guessing the first expansion pack will come out probably next november or december. remember, im just making a hipothesis.

I recently heard that two expansions and a stuff pack will be released sometime before november, this makes sense because they confirmed that they were already working on the first three expansions during the delay.
It has also been confirmed that the first expansions will include animals and weather, in some way, shape, or form. But anyway, yes – there will be expansions you don’t have to get all your items from the store.

well there really not doing expansion packs but they will release online a way to pick and choose what you want which means you can have the cars from one expansion pack and the restaurants from another which is really cool

Sims 3 just came out. There probably giving people time to get used to the original game. Plus, there giving us time to unlock the new neighborhood “Riverveiw” on the website. Just wait probably a couple weeks. They’ll have some thing.

When the sims 2 was released, it took about six months before the first expansion to be released. I’m sure the Sims 3 will be similar. But, I heard (keep in mind this is just rumors) that they may just ditch the expansions thing and just put all the new objects, patches, etc. available for download in the Sims Store thing. Of course, you’d still have to pay for everything but you could pick and choose what aspects of the game you wanted to add.

They won’t have expansion packs for a while.
I know that The Sims 2 came out 9/14/04 and they released the first expasion pack (University) sometime around March 04. You also have to consider how much more effort it will take to make an expansion pack for The Sims 3 than The Sims 2 because of all the updated graphics and such.
And yes, the exchange will probably become much better in time.

Sims 3 expansion packs probably won’t be out for a while. They just released the base game, so it will be another couple of months. I would hope one will be out by Christmas if not sooner.
Like I said before, the Sims 3 just came out. People are still playing with clothing and furniture, so when people get more adjusted to the new features I’m sure we will be seeing a lot more stuff and cooler objects.

well they probably will, it would make sence as they have done this for every other game. also, they are constantly thinking of new stuff, so unless they can find a different way of distributiong these ideas, then expansion packs are almost certaintly gonna come out.

Sims 3 came out less than 2 weeks ago. People have to have time to buy the game before they can buy the expansion back. Sims 2 has been out for how long? and how many expansion packs has it come out with?
Give it some time. Everything can’t be perfect all at once.
