Back up, Back up & Back up!

This post is going to be short and sweet:  it is just a reminder to back up your Sims 3 game often…

I played last night and the game was very slow.  It was very late, felt pretty tired so decided to quit. Clicked on “Save and Quit” button and after 10mn it was still saving.  So decided to just shut down and go to bed.

Well, I had a nice surprise today when I tried to play my game: it was GONE!!!!! Oh no!!!!!

I had a back up but it was made some weeks ago so the last “quite a lot of hours” I had spent on the game are just gone for good.

To back up:

You need to keep a copy of your “Saves” folder which is in your MyDocuments Sims 3 Folder.  While you are at it, in that folder, copy your Sims 3 Downloads folder and you will also want to keep a copy of your Packages folder.

So theses are the main folder you will want to keep a copy of: Saves, Downloads & Packages.

Looking at it on the bright side, now I might be able to prevent my Sims from being robbed and lose their “foosball” table.
