The Sims 3 Install Helper Monkey
MTS2 has just released a program to help with the install of custom contents: the TS3 Install Helper Monkey.
Houses and Sims will come as Sims3Pack files. Anything that is a Sims3Pack is installed via the Launcher or via a Sims3Pack tool. This tool is concerned only with .package files – aka the actual “true” custom content (such as the No Zzzs, the no mosaic, the skin tones, and the patterns).
General rule of thumb: Is it a Sims3Pack? Use the launcher. Is it a .package? Use this tool…
This tool will automatically set up your game so you can use custom content .package files for The Sims 3. Once set up, you can just double-click the files to put them where they need to go. No need to mess with Resource.cfg yourself or create any folders – just run the program, and from then on, you can just double-click the files.
You still have to double-click files to install, but everything else is done for you!
You can also right-click on a file to send it to a particular folder, so you can have sub folders and keep your downloads organized.

Modthesims will not be down for too long, so you will have to be patient as it is the only site you can get it from.
